Welcome to my Blog
Welcome to my blog. There are many like it, but this one is mine. This is more of an experiment at the moment. I've had blogs in the past, but never had really any kind of focused topic. I just posted about whatever came to mind at whatever interval. My intent with this one is different.
I've heard different people talk about writing about their work to try to find more meaning or make it more interesting or useful. I've been struggling recently with finding meaning in my work when it's just "do a job, fill out the ticket, move on." My job title, "Network Engineer," at a smallish MSP basically just means that I am one of the guys who has to look into any issue when someone else can't figure it out. I'm usually the guy who wants to spend time looking at something weird or interesting, so I am usually the one who finds odd quirks, digs into packets, or searches SIEM logs for more or less curiosity reasons.
I want to turn my tickets where I find something interesting, time-consuming, useful, or weird into something that others can use. I don't anticipate having a huge reach with this blog, but I want to be able to share the things I learn with others. And this is that forum. Please check back occasionally to see what I've been up to. My goal is to post something at least once a month to start with and we'll see where this goes.
